I started Footsie Tootsie Soapery in 2022, right around the time I was turning 50. After spending more than 30 years in the corporate world, I found myself wanting something more; something that would allow me to be creative, work with my hands, build something I could truly call my own, and there's nothing like having someone come tell me how much our products have helped them. 

I have always had a love for handmade soap. Years ago, as a working mom, I would seek out farmers markets and artisan soaps whenever I could squeeze it into my busy schedule. The way a beautiful bar of soap feels in your hands, and how clean and nourished my skin feels after using it is like nothing in a store. So, I decided to test my own formulations.

I began right in my own kitchen, experimenting with ingredients, reading and researching everything I could possibly find, which I still do. This all began using basic household appliances and simple ingredients I could find locally. Today, I have a much larger pot and a massive mixer along with a growing team that helps bring it all together.

I have to give credit to my dad. He instilled in me an appreciation for working with my hands and making things with ingredients around us, he loved farming. That influence is a large part of why I love working with local farmers and beekeepers turning those ingredients into something people can enjoy and perhaps find relief from using.

I am incredible grateful to those close to me who have encouraged me to not give up. The support and feedback from our customers have been amazing, hearing their stories is one of my favorite things. So, whether you've been with me from the beginning or you are just discovering Footsie Tootsie Soapery now, I THANK YOU for being part of my story, part of our journey!
